My name is Pam Hamilton, my pronouns are She/Her/Hers. I’m a counsellor living and working on the unceded territories of the Musqueam, Squamish, and Tsleil-Waututh Nations. As a settler on these lands, I hold deep respect for the communities who have cared for them since time immemorial.
I came to this work after seeing a counsellor myself as a young teen, someone who helped me find my worth and showed me what it feels like to be truly supported. That experience shaped my path. I have personally navigated learning disabilities, neurodivergence and childhood adversities. I struggled in school until I found my way into post secondary and could focus on what I loved supporting others. I flourished in University and was fortunate enough to complete a Master’s of Counselling at the University of Lethbridge.
For over a decade, I’ve worked in the mental health field with adults, teens, and children through the healthcare system and now in a nonprofit supporting families with complex lives and neurodivergence. I’m especially passionate about working with caregivers and parents who are trying to understand their kiddos and or themselves with more clarity and compassion.
Relationships are at the heart of my work. Whether you’re navigating friendships, romantic partnerships, family dynamics, or workplace challenges, I’m here to help you make sense of what’s happening and feel more grounded in yourself. I also love incorporating expressive therapies: art, creativity, and nervous system settling practices when that feels right for the person I’m working with.
When I’m not in session, you’ll likely find me at the park with my kiddo, reading, drawing or painting, wandering in nature, or having coffee with friends or snuggling up with my cat Luna.
If you’re looking for a counsellor who brings warmth, curiosity, and a down-to-earth approach to the complexities of relationships and identity, I’d be honoured to connect.
